Light and dark sticks are crossed into a tapered lattice, an Eiffel-like cone that stands on its own. The class is built around structural fundamentals you can take into later work: load, crossing, proportion and taper. Once the logic is in the hand, the same thinking applies to domes, arches, grids and other three-dimensional forms. Fresh stems climb the armature and find their way through the grid. The look is effortless. The three core methods take practice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCrossing lattice armature\u003c\/strong\u003e — stacking and locking sticks into a load-bearing cone. A small error in angle or tension makes the tower lean or collapse at the waist.
